Reconnecting Fathers with Their Children
An abundance of research studies over the past few decades have highlighted the importance of the father’s presence in the lives of their children. Boys in the adolescence stage are less likely to display delinquent behavior with a father actively involved (Cobb-Clark & Tekin, 2014). Moreover, children who have actively engaged fathers experience minor issues with behavior, readily establish friendships, have improved success in school, are less inclined to participate in crime or drug use, and have greater self-esteem (Davies, 2015).
